How are you currently organising your notes and ideas for your business?  Evernote is a free software that has a ton of powerful features that I use myself on a daily basis.  One of the best things about Evernote is that it can be synched across all your devices, including your computer and your mobile devices on both Mac and PC.

Evernote is functional and flexible and no two people are going to be using it the exact same way, for the same purpose.  Here’s a few ideas of what you can use Evernote for:

  • Recording notes
  • Creating a To-Do or Task List
  • Bookmarking pages/websites
  • Research Notes
  • Meeting Notes
  • Idea Recording
  • Blog, Article, Report Writing/drafts

To understand the convenience of Evernote, let’s look at a quick example.  Say you are working on your latest blog post or article in Evernote and you have to leave to go to an appointment. While you are waiting at the doctor’s or dentist’s or client’s office you can open Evernote on your mobile device and continue working, no time wasting!  After your appointment when you are back at your office you can finish off your work.

You didn’t have to make sure you were working on the latest version, Evernote updates from device to device. Plus you don’t have to worry about having more than one copy on your computer, and using the right one.

Evernote will automatically sync your Notes.  And just to be on the safe side you can always manually click on the ‘sync’ button to ensure your work is always up to date.

Other things that you can use Evernote for include saving pictures of all your favorite things. You simply snap a photo or add a note about it into Evernote. By using a browser extension you can save entire webpages into Evernote. This is perfect for those of you who do a ton of research.  Or if you just stumble across a fantastic site that you don’t want to lose!

Evernote makes it easy for you to share items with friends, clients and co-workers.  Like to travel?  Then you can scan all your travel documents and itineraries into Evernote and have them stored in one easy to access location.

Evernote works on Mac, Windows and Windows 8 touch and it works on all your mobile devices including iPad, iPhone, iPod, Android, Windows Phone and Blackberries.
